Mon.May 23rd 2011, Victoria Day

Join us as we travel North America in our
Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August 2006

This the first long weekend of almost summer and is in celebration of Queen Victoria's Birthday, it is the monday on or before May 24th. With all kinds of weather all weekend, today was no different, sunshine, overcast, windy, drizzly, and rainy. The official holiday today but with unpredictable weather people are packing up and heading home. We watched, we waved, we said see ya later and then enjoyed the sunshine when it came out.

Many years ago we always headed to northern Ontario, on the lakes, in the bush lovely scenery. But with the usually damp weather and early in the season we were "eatin alive" with Black flies and Mosquitoes. But now we have come to love this area, southwestern Ontario, especially this campground, we don't seem to have many of these creatures.

The grass around our site is growing like crazy so I borrowed the lawnmower again and gave our lot a quick cut just to clean it up a bit. Paul will do it when he gets this way, but I can as well and use the grass catcher on the mower so we don't track the clippings into our house. After this I finished waxing the passenger side of our coach before it started to rain. I put my stuff away, then the rain stopped and sun was shining again, time to enjoy our books for a while.

Now time to prep our spareribs on a bed of sauerkraut in the pressure cooker, then put in the potatoes and carrots while glazing the ribs on the barbie for the finishing touch.

After enjoying a tasty tender meal, we returned back outside under our awning with bright sunny skies and a heavy downpour of rain. I somehow missed the rainbow but we were able to read outside until 9:00 pm gotta love this time of year almost 18 hours a day of daylight.
