Sun. May 8th 2011, Happy Mother's Day

Join us as we travel North America in our
Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August 2006

Today is Mother's Day and we are all thinking of our Mother's even if we are not with them  today.

We started a beautiful day with sunshine and blue skies and temperatures up to about 16c (64f), very acceptable considering what we have been having. Coffees and computing then shortly after 9 am , Emile and Monique joined us at the clubhouse for a pancake and sausage breakfast, free for mothers today.

With such a beautiful day its a good time to check out the Pinery Antique Fleamarket in Grand Bend (I think its our favourite one). So the four of us headed out for the nice 20 minute country drive there.
Mom's free here, BEER Too??
Free admission here for Mothers as well, as savings of .50 cents each. Actually the sign kinda reads that Mom's get free ice cold beer too! Gotta love this Flea Market!!  There is a good turn out for vendors, and nice strolling thru the trees looking for bargains for a few hours, always new things to see.

lotsa sunshine
Because the leaves were not on the trees yet this allowed the heat of the sun, make it a quite comfortable temperature.
lotsa stuff
relax here
We do not need much but always enjoy the atmosphere. I bought 3 pairs of socks for three dollars, and Suzie exchanged 14 novels for 10 (good deal), a I bought a package of extra hot pepperettes for $5.00. Now after all this walking we had to stop at the filling station, to relax, listen to the excellent ballads of Brian Dale and enjoy a refreshing beverage. As it turns out no Free Beer for Mom's :<(  BUT: it was ice cold!!

As we hare heading back to the car we could here the rumble of the motorcycles firing up and getting ready to head out, now we know its a real nice day!
on the way out a bunch of motorcycles heading out
Now its mid afternoon so back home  for a bite to eat. I fired up the barbie and cooked up a homemade burger patty, fully dressed with a few chips on the side, perfect for a sunny sunday.
tasty burger
As well pulled into the resort, Tom the maintenance man waved and said the pressure washer was working now if I wanted to use it. So after a a quick bite I brought it back to our site and fired it up to clean our acrylic (canvas awning). The weather was good for it and did a real good job, removing most of the imbedded dirt from the material.
working good
Now another great day done with lots of fresh air and exercise, and our awning cleaned up we can relax with a beverage and chat with the neighbours again for a while, then called it a night.

Yes it was a fun filled day, the awning took a while and still some black marks I can't get out, but lots better than it was, thanks for the tips on the powerwasher.
