Fri Dec 2nd, Deming NM to St. David Arizona

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

 Where are we Today!
St. Davis AZ

Our Internet is down at the moment hopefully can get problem resolved soon

We had another good nights  sleep at the Deming N.M. Walmart. At least 15 rvs parked for the night, security keeping an eye on us and the store. Our heater going to warm things up this morning and our stove top perk for coffees, then computing and a nice walkabout at 6:30 am for some shopping in the store, not busy at this time of day.

On the road about 8 am no rush only 179 miles to go to St. David Rv resort where we will be for 8 nights.
179 miles today
We passed a ghost town on I-10 and thought about stopping to check it out but we were having some weather.

Soon across the state line into Arizona finally. There had been high winds advisory warnings along the road, luckily it was at our backs pushing us down the road (great gas mileage). And the signs advising what to do with limited visibility also signs and flashing lights advising that it is just up ahead.
We could not see the mountains ahead looked like dust storms, but the skies opened up with some rain and a bit of hail putting a stop to the dust storms and no visibility. The first time I have ever welcomed a rainstorm on the highway.

Getting closer to our destination familiar signs on the roadway Cochise Stronghold, Dragoon Road and all the amazing huge boulders just teetering on top of each other at the side of the road. Passing the Texas Canyon rest area we phoned ahead to order lunch from "Junction Express" in Benson, we think they have the best "Broasted Chicken" anywhere next to Anna Mae's In Millbank Ontario. Of course they even tell you its best made to order so it's  fresh, moist and crispy.
yummy lunch
After a wonderful lunch only 5 more miles to St. David where we checked in for some more ROD free camping, think we will stay here 8 nights.

All set up and comfy in a nice sunny spot with very little wind all good except our internet is not working (hasn't since we left Deming this morning), so Suzie got on the phone with I-coach support. After checking, testing and numerous different items, the day ended with no fix yet, but they will be back at it saturday morning to hopefully resolve the issues. Good thing we have free unlimited incoming calls at the moment.

While Suzie was doing this I went to the Post Office to pick up the new bushings for our sway bar that I  ordered on line, then into Benson to find someone that would install them for us. The Ford Truck dealer, no problem anytime I want just let us know, hopefully its not raining(or snowing!) and we can do it, they work outside here. The weatherperson is calling for snow above 4,000 ft , we are at 3,580 ft so should be good.

No supper tonight after our filling lunch, we can read and watch a bit of tv enjoying the cooler weather and sunshine. Well actually too cold, a deep frost warning tonight, disconnect water hoses and only about 15c (60f) during the day, but sunny and dry! We'll take it! So nice to back in Arizona.

No more long travel days for a while just hanging out around southern Arizona and California for the next 2-3 months.
