Oooppps, guess I shoulda.

Where are we today ?
clic on a pic to enlarge it
Well I am not saying it was cold last night but..... got up this morning  at about 4:30 as usual and no water? Hmmm water pump is turned on can't hear it running and no water pressure. It was -10c (14F ) and the compartments are heated somewhat from our furnace, but.. I turn the thermostat down to 50 f at night (to conserve our propane and a get a good night's sleep), so I guess not enough heat got down there.
a wonderful sunrise this morning, love it !
So when the sun came up (to a beautiful sunrise and no snow) I took my trouble light with a 60 watt bulb and plugged it in, dropped it and broke the bulb. Oopps again, but I did have a spare, put in by the water pump and was thawed out in about 2 hours, but still no water. Ok, got out our small ceramic heater and put it down there, on low. We have a 200 foot 15 amp extension cord for power, it will not run on high. 30 minutes later we have water and no leaks. Whooppee !
Then picked up a few food stuffs for tonight's supper and 2 more light bulbs. I need the old style incandescent, that are very hard to find now , everything is energy efficient. Yes they use more power because they give off heat and that's what I want. Found them lucky me.
After a light lunch Suzie went to visit her Dad in the Stratford Hospital and hopefully they will let him loose tomorrow. When he gets outta there and is settled, we will go somewhere, not sure where, that remains to be seen, not too far though. While she did that I whipped up the the Wilmot Rec Centre and got a 3 mile boring walk done on the inside track. 36 laps, better than not walking and much warmer.
For supper tonight a home made pizza with our favourite Cauliflower crust click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar of this blog. Used this huge 2 dollar cauliflower I picked up yesterday at the St. Jacob Farmer's market. This was topped with Turkey Pepperoni, Ham, onions, fresh mushrooms, green olives and jalapeno peppers on my half, then topped with tomato slices after it came out of the oven to cool down a bit.
cauliflower crust ready to dress
Then while the pizza was cooking we had weather! Hmm what's with this white stuff? But apparently the weather gods tell us it will turn to rain later tonight and get above freezing. Wow, now that's a good thing.
hmm . not nice, but not will go away soon
But the best thing right now is our Pizza is smelling wonderful in our coach and in a few minutes will taste awesome!
love this cauliflower pizza crust,  so light and gluten free
as well,we don't need gluten free, but.. its healthier,
so they say
That was our not so exciting day, always something to do to keep life interesting. This should be our last cold snap for the season according to the weather Gods, but ya never know. We will take it as it comes. Do we have a choice?
Thanks for stopping by again hope you had a wonderful day too !

" Update, just after I posted this blog we are having freezing rain" lets see how this pans out.

In this many days we will be heading south again

  3. I keep tabs on the weather in the Detroit area, our son and his family live near there, plus, it will be our first stop in Michigan and looks like it will be getting warmer by the weekend and into the 60's the following week. Hope your area is looking the same and the weather "predictors" are right.
Hope the freezing rain disappears fast. Personally, I prefer snow any day but seriously it is April it should be rain and sun.

  9. George, I usually don't git into other peoples business.....BUT, I suggest you do some research into gluten free. If you don't have celiac disease, then gluten free is NOT a healthy choice.

I enjoyed the trip back to Canada, but dad gum it, what's with the white stuff. You know I don't like cold.

    1. I do the gluten free, for some of my relatives and friends. We do get our Gluten with beer and such.
We don't like the cold or this white stuff anymore either, that's why we head south every winter, just came home too early for family stuff ya know?
Thanks for your input Billy Bob.
